This weekend, CLA participated in the Game Gang Show, a massive gaming event in Slovenia. The event brought together tournaments in the most popular esports titles, such as LoL, CS2, and Valorant, with a total prize pool of 15,000 EUR. It also featured fan-favorite sports simulators: EA FC24 and NBA2K24.
Of course, our team could not miss such an opportunity, and JokerTole, TUNA13, Th3Prod1gy, Banderas, ssztbero, WinniePooh, Mata21, and Crab662, with the help of CLA Croatia’s coach FifaFico, embarked on a journey to win. Right alongside them was another member of the Croatian coaching team, Shpaolin, who took on the NBA2K24 tournament.
Before the main event in Ljubljana Fair, our players first had to go through four qualification rounds (two for NBA2K24), which were played in a Bo1 Double Elimination format. The top four players of each round would qualify for the main event.
The eFootball Finals were held on April 6 and consisted of a Group Stage leading to a single-elimination Playoff. From the beginning, a high CLA presence almost ensured some of our players would make it to the Playoffs. Amazingly, FifaFico, JokerTole, Banderas, TUNA13, and Th3Prod1gy all got in, proving once again the resilience of the Croatian division.
The First Playoff round was a real success for our players, with each of them winning their matches. FifaFico pulled out an insane 8:0 win, confirming that one of our players would play in the Finals. Yet, it was also the last one for Banderas, who had lost to Th3Prod1gy with a final score of 2:4. In the Semi-finals, JokerTole managed to outplay TUNA13 in a close duel with a final score of 2:1. In the meantime FifaFico won his match against Th3Prod1gy and also entered the Finals.
The Final match is a clear demonstration of why eFootball has so many fans around the globe. FifaFico had a rough start in the first game after JokerTole scored the final goal in the last minute of the match, ending with a 2:1 score. The second match began with a series of back-to-back goals, but FifaFico regained the initiative and, by the end of the game, was leading by two points. Despite JokerTole's once again amazing last-minute goal, the time ran out, and they entered the final battle with a total score of 1:1. In the final battle, FifaFico prevailed and was declared champion, taking home his well-earned 1000 EUR Prize money.
The NBA2K24 Finals were played the next day. It began with the Bo1 double-elimination Playoff bracket. Taking out his opponents one by one, Shpaolin very quickly found himself in the Finals against GsnaGsYT. Playing as Boston Celtics, he quickly got ahead and managed to keep his lead throughout the match, finishing it with a total score of 32:69 and winning a 500 EUR prize.
Words cannot express how proud we are of our players. Their performance really highlights what CLA Croatia has managed to achieve. Our gratitude also goes to all the players who participated and the Game Gang Show team for putting together such an amazing event. We do hope to take part and show similar results next year.
