This weekend, our Polish division superstar, Neerven, went to London to participate in one of the biggest international EA Sports FC24 tournaments, the eChampions League 2024! Organized by Electronic Arts, this event brought together 41 top eFootball players from around the world, who clashed in a battle to determine the strongest and claim their share of the astonishing $280,000 prize pool while they are at it.
To even have the chance to participate, Neerven first had to compete in the Ekstraklasa tournament back in Poland, where he represented the Polish football club Raków Częstochowa. Demonstrating immense prowess and skill, he managed to climb to the top, earning his spot in the eChampions League.
Neerven traveled to London with a member of the CLA Poland coaching team, Damianek. Unfortunately, they were on a strict schedule and didn’t have much time to explore this wonderful city.
The event kicked off on May 11th with the Group Stage matches. To advance, players had to secure at least 3rd place. Right from the start, Neerven ended up in one of the toughest groups in the tournament. It was the only group with six people and featured experienced FIFA legends such as French player Fouma and the FIFAe World Cup 2023 winner from the Netherlands, Manuel (aka ManuBachoore). Despite these challenging conditions, Neerven managed to secure one win and one draw, but sadly, he finished in 5th place with a final score of 1-1-3.
We are immensely proud of Neerven. Even having the chance to compete in such a big event is an achievement in itself. For his first world-class tournament, he demonstrated that he could hold his own very well. Right now, he is already practicing for DreamHack Dallas 2024, so we wish him the best of luck!
